Blake Lively might have been proudly showing off her baby bump this week in an array of stylish outfits, but the beauty is said to be set on giving her child a private life away from Hollywood with her husband Ryan Reynolds.

Now a source has told E! news that the couple want their baby to have a “normal childhood”.

The 27-year-old is thankfully have a great pregnancy so far, and is allegedly already planning on some more babies.

“They are so excited they are having a baby and are happy Blake’s had a pretty easy pregnancy. (It’s) so easy that she’s saying she wants to get pregnant really soon after she pops this baby out!”

Ryan, 38, tied the knot with the Savages beauty just 11 months after dating, but he’s been doting on her since she got pregnant.

“Ryan is being such a sweet hubby, he’s giving her foot and back rubs constantly! He jokes that she doesn’t even have to ask anymore, he just automatically does it.”

The pregnant star gushed over her hubby and said that he’s been taking “pretty good care” of her throughout her pregnancy.

Talking to Us Weekly, she said: “He’s always good to me. That’s like a jerky thing to say because you want to be able to complain about your husband and be that person, but he takes pretty good care of me.”

Blake, who announced her pregnancy on her website Preserve, also added: “He’s going to be a great father and leader and patriarch – he’s so meant to be all of those things.”

The blonde actress admitted that she has always wanted to have children since she was “a little girl”.

“It’s something that I’ve always wanted ever since I was a little girl,” she told the magazine.

“I never knew what I wanted to do for a living but I knew I wanted to have a lot of kids because I had come from a big family, so it was always important to me. So it’s just the excitement of that finally being here.”

The fashion king who loved women: Oscar de la Renta, a very different designer

Cocktail numbers embroidered with flowers, floor-length gowns in a kaleidoscope of colours, and dresses whose show-stopping back views took the breath away: Oscar de la Renta’s creations were as varied and full of character as the women he dressed.

In a career that spanned more than 50 years, the designer, who has died at the age of 82, built up a ￡123 million fashion empire, creating bespoke outfits for everyone from Jackie Kennedy to the new Mrs Amal Clooney, who wore a delicate lace Oscar de la Renta gown for her wedding to actor George last month.

He dressed socialites, screen goddesses and royalty alike: Audrey Hepburn and Diana, Princess of Wales were loyal customers, and in recent years the actress Penelope Cruz and pop singer Taylor Swift have graced the red carpet in his ensembles.

Yet while his client list was second to none, the secret to his lasting success wasn’t his A-list friends: it was the fact that he simply loved women — his beloved wife of 25 years, Annette, his six sisters, his glamorous clients . . . Even ordinary women who could probably never dream of affording his dresses, which start at around ￡3,000.

For De la Renta may have dressed the great and the good, but he was not in thrall to them. ‘An anonymous woman on the street is the woman who influences fashion today, not a movie star or First Lady,’ he once said.

In an industry in which some might argue male designers don’t always make clothes which enhance the female form, Oscar de la Renta catered to women of all ages, shapes and sizes, managing to fit and flatter disparate body shapes with equal flair.

His designs for Princess Diana were as sophisticated as his gowns for Nicole Kidman were sensual.

‘I don’t like dull women,’ he said in 1986. ‘The most important beauty is not that with which you were born, but the real beauty of character which grows all through a woman’s life and maybe never stops growing.’

It is perhaps no surprise that he managed to appeal to women from every background, given his own humble start in life.

Born Oscar Renta (he added the ‘de la’ to sound more aristocratic to Americans) in the Dominican Republic in 1932, his father was an insurance salesman, although his mother came from a well-established family. He was particularly close to his mother and grandmother.

With reportedly one pair of shoes —blue suede ones, admittedly — to his name, he moved to Spain at 18 to study abstract painting. He fell into fashion by taking jobs sketching dress designs. The U.S. ambassador to Spain commissioned a gown for her daughter, who was pictured wearing it on the cover of Life magazine.

He then joined Spain’s most revered couturier, Balenciaga, and later moved to work in Paris, where he mixed with the likes of actress Catherine Deneuve and film director Roger Vadim.

His big break came after he moved to New York in 1963 with his future wife, Francoise de Langlade, editor-in-chief of French Vogue.

He persuaded cosmetics queen Elizabeth Arden to hire him, after meeting her at a dinner party where he’d been invited as an extra man. In 1965, he went to work for U.S. fashion designer Jane Derby and launched his label after her death that year.

His business and design acumen was combined with a sharp eye towards conquering New York society. He and Francoise became gracious entertainers at their country house in Connecticut.

Although he was famously charming, he could be subtly withering if he wanted. He once recalled how he first met Princess Diana when he sat next to her at a lunch function.

‘I remember for the first 45 minutes she never said a word to me,’ he recalled. ‘I was mortified, especially when a friend at another table sent over a note saying, “So happy to see you are such a hit with the Princess of Wales.” ’

Suddenly, Diana ‘piped up’ and said she had been too shy to start a conversation. ‘After that, all she wanted to talk about was clothes. But frankly, my nightmare at a lunch or dinner is just talking fashion. There are so many more important things in the world.’

While he might not have liked talking fashion, he was charm personified when I did just that at his New York show in the late Nineties. He had a twinkle in his eye for every reporter in the room. When my time came, his charm remained intact, despite the fact that I was more Peckham than Park Avenue.

By this point, the designer was happily settled with second wife, Annette, whom he married in 1989, six years after Francoise’s death. He had already adopted a son, Moises, who will split the designer’s fortune with his three stepchildren.

First and foremost, Oscar de la Renta will be remembered as a gentleman — one who revered women, dressed them exquisitely and made them feel like the best version of themselves. Whether they were grand ladies or girls next door.
